Elizabeth Amann received her PhD (with Distinction) from Columbia University in 2000. Before moving to Belgium, she taught as an Assistant Professor at the University of Chicago and Yale University and as an Associate Professor at Columbia University. She is the author of Importing Madame Bovary: The Politics of Adultery (Palgrave Macmillan, 2006), Dandyism in the Age of Revolution: The Art of the Cut (University of Chicago Press, 2015) and The Omnibus: A Cultural History of Urban Transportation (Palgrave Macmillan, 2023).
