Kobe Keymeulen graduated from Ghent University with an MA in Philosophy in 2020. A year later, he was awarded a PhD fellowship from the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO), to be completed under the supervision of professor Gertrudis Van De Vijver. His research project, "Transcendental Materialism and its Disciplinary Concern - On the Systematization, History and Practice of a Philosophy after the Žižekian Synthesis", seeks to (as the title implies), contribute to the ungoing development and systematisation of one specific strand of contemporary continental philosophy popularised by the Slovenian philosopher Slavoj Žižek (and secondarily, the French philosopher Alain Badiou). Particular attention is paid to questions of historicity ('Does philosophy have a history?') and disciplinarity ('Should philosphy interact differently with different disciplines?').
Kobe currently assists courses covering German Idealism, political philosophy and continental philosphy. In his spare time he is known to obsess over cult movies, political subcultures and game design.
