I am a philosopher interested in the tension between the history of ideas and ‘anti-historicist’ theoretical problems. My main focus is the tradition of the so-called Ljubljana School (Žižek, Dolar, Zupančič) and its intellectual predecessors/interloctutors (from Kant to Lacan), though my first and most persistent love remains 'the old man', G.W.F. Hegel. I recieved my BA and MA in Philosophy right here in Ghent, as well as my PhD (2025), with the support of the Flemish Research Foundation (FWO).
I have a continued interest in and have supervised BA and MA work on a wide variety of subjects in continental/critical thought, including political philosophy, philosophy of science, philosophy of history, film theory and cultural theory.
In 2026, I am away from home, serving as a Fulbright Scholar at Princeton University, researching the ongoing relationship between American literary theory and contemporary continental philosophy, although I remain involved in Ghent in a reduced capacity as a post-doc. In the past, I was a visiting researcher at the University of Warwick (UK) and at ZRC SAZU, the Philosophy Institute of the Slovenian Academy of Arts & Sciences.
In my spare time I obsess over film, fantastical fiction, political subcultures and game design.
