Abstract

The research project aims to analyse the didactical-pedagogical methods used by history teachers regarding citizenship education in Flemish secondary education. Starting from the new learning goals framework launched by the Flemish governement in February 2021 we develop a didactical tool which support history teachers to deal with controvesial issues and sensitive historical topics. More specific, we focus on two Key Competences 'Citizenship' and 'Historical Consciousness'. The insights will be implemented in the Educational Master History.
