For decades, Palestinian women's movements have moved and continue to move in the field of tension of a double resistance - characterised by the struggle against occupation and the challenges of patriarchal structures. In the midst of complex processes of social transformation, these movements are committed to national liberation and gender justice at the same time. The project sheds light on the historical and contemporary dimensions of this commitment and examines how Palestinian women can act as agents of social change. It reflects on the multi-layered, sometimes contradictory roles that women play within Palestinian society and how they advocate for self-determination in a reality characterised by geopolitical tensions. The analysis combines interdisciplinary approaches and shows how Palestinian women's resistance can take shape in the interplay between national struggle and processes of social transformation. The focus is not only on the often ambivalent positions of women in Palestinian liberation movements, but also on their influence on the socio-political landscape of the global ‘Middle East’ region.
