Joke Daems is a postdoctoral research assistant at Ghent University. She conducts research as a member of the Language and Translation Technology Team (LT³) in the field of machine translation and human-computer interaction. She obtained a PhD in Translation Studies at Ghent University in 2016, working on identifying the differences between human translation and post-editing for students and professional translators. Her research interests include translation, machine translation, post-editing, translatability, translation quality assessment, human-computer interaction, and translation stylometry. Since January 2020, she is studying the impact of machine translation on literary translator style.
