Guylian Nemegeer is a PhD candidate in Literary Studies at Ghent University. He studied French and Italian Linguistics and Literature and graduated (with a BA) with a dissertation on Gabriele d’Annunzio’s war rhetoric. He then went on to achieve his Masters in Comparative Modern Literature writing a dissertation on short story collection theory.
His research interests lie primarily in literary history, literary theory and cultural and intellectual history, with a particular focus on the tension between tradition and modernity. His current project focuses on the reception and interpretation of the Italian Renaissance in the prose works of Gabriele d’Annunzio (1863-1938).
