Nina Van der Sype (°1998, Ghent, Belgium) obtained a bachelor’s degree in Linguistics and Literature: English-Latin in 2019 (Ghent University) and became Master of Arts in Linguistics and Literature: English-Latin in 2020 (Ghent University). She subsequently obtained the Master of Science in Teaching in Languages (Main Subject Linguistics and Literature) with acquired teaching methodologies of English and Latin in 2022 (Ghent University). In November 2022, Nina began her PHD in literature which combines the philology of a late Latin poem with the field of “ literary ageing studies” within the context of the project Late or Too Late? Old Age in the late Latin Elegies of Maximian (6th c. AD), under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Marco Formisano (Ghent University) and Prof. Dr. Aagje Swinnen (Maastricht University) and funded by FWO. Her research interests include late Latin poetry, elegiac corpora, macrotextuality and the application of (literary) ageing studies to classical and late antique texts.
