www.dialectloket.be is a multimedia website about language variation in Dutch, developed at the Department of Linguistics (section Dutch) of Ghent University, by the staff of the Dictionary of the Flemish Dialects.
The main purpose of the website is to digitize and make available some important dialectological collections of the Ghent University and to provide the general public with reliable information about language variation in general and dialectology in particular. Dialectloket focusses on the description of the Dutch dialects spoken in Belgium, but also aims to inform about (the results of) dialectology, sociolinguistics and ethnolinguistics, applied to the Dutch language situation as a whole. To do so, Dialectloket is made up of 4 components: (1) the text section with informative texts and articles, (2) the word section which contains links to several digital dictionaries and lexical databases, (3) the sound section with hundreds of audio samples and (4) the image section with a large collection of videos and linguistic maps. Additionally, an educational section was added for teachers and lecturers in order to integrate the matter outlined above in their teaching practice.
Dialectloket is een wetenschapspopulariseringsproject van de vakgroep Taalkunde-Nederlands en werd uitgevoerd door medewerkers van het Woordenboek van de Vlaamse Dialecten.
www.dialectloket.be is een multimediale website over taalvariatie in het Nederlands. De website heeft als doel enkele dialectologische collecties van de UGent te ontsluiten en het grote publiek deugdelijke informatie te bezorgen met betrekking tot taalvariatie in het algemeen en dialectologie in het bijzonder. Dialectloket besteedt aandacht aan de beschrijving van de Vlaamse dialecten maar ook aan de huidige taalveranderingen in Vlaanderen en Nederland, waaronder sociale en etnische taalvariatie. De website wil dus informeren over (de resultaten van) dialectologie, sociolinguïstiek en etnolinguïstiek - toegepast op de Nederlandse taal. Dialectloket biedt gebruikers daarvoor in 4 loketten informatieve teksten (tekstloket), digitale woordenboeken (woordloket), honderden geluidsfragmenten (geluidsloket) en een grote verzameling filmpjes en taalkaarten (beeldloket). Daarnaast werd een educatief luik toegevoegd waarin docenten in het secundair en hoger onderwijs concreet materiaal, tips en ideeën vinden om de hoger geschetste thematiek in hun onderwijs te integreren.
