My research interests include Vinaya texts, medieval Chinese linguistics, and Buddhist Hybrid Chinese, with the prospect of adopting corpus linguistic methods. My current research project is “Narrating the rules: A study of the dynamics of modal markers in Chinese Vinaya translations of the 5th century”.
