Amaury Van Parys is a postdoctoral researcher at the Linguistics Department of Ghent University. His research interests include reading comprehension, writing assessment, vocabulary knowledge, and linguistic complexity analysis. Currently, he is associated with the Flemish centralized tests (Steunpunt Centrale Toetsen in Onderwijs).
He obtained his PhD in Linguistics in February 2026. In his doctoral research, he investigated lexical and grammatical characteristics of L2 classroom input as well as the effect of such characteristics on L2 learners’ reading comprehension.
