Colinda Lindermann is a postdoctoral researcher at Ghent University in the ERC-project KNOW: Polymathy and Interdisciplinarity in Premodern Islamic Epistemic Cultures.
She has an MA in Classics from Leiden University (2005) and and MA in Arabic Studies from Free University Berlin (2016). In 2023, she defended her PhD thesis on premodern Arabic lexicography at Free University Berlin and she is currently revising her dissertation for publication.
Her research interests include the history of Arabic language scholarship, Arabic lexicography and grammar, technical terminology, Islamic intellectual history, commentary culture, and pre-Islamic poetry.
She is the Managing Editor of the journal Philological Encounters (Leiden: Brill), which is devoted to the historical and philosophical critique of philology as a global practice.
