Stefaan Vervoort (born 1986) is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Art History, Musicology and Theatre Studies, Ghent University. He holds a BA and MA in Architectural Engineering (Ghent University) and an MPhil in Visual Arts, Media, and Architecture (VU University, Amsterdam). He has worked as an assistant and researcher at the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning, Ghent University, where, in 2020, he defended his Ph.D. titled "Models Beyond Sculpture: Architectural Objects in the Visual Arts in New York and Düsseldorf, 1966-1984." He lectures on modern and contemporary art at the Plantin Artesis School, Antwerp, and, previously, at LUCA School of Arts, Ghent and Brussels. A scholar and an art critic, he is (co-)editor of three monographic publications and regularly publishes in art and architecture journals as well as in books and catalogues. His research focuses mainly on the exchange between postwar art and architecture, and on postwar sculpture in relation to technology in Belgium.
