Tjamke Snijders (°1981, MA in History at Leiden University (2003), MA in the Philosophy of Science at Leiden University (2003), MA in History at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey (2004), PhD with congratulations from the board of examiners at Ghent University (2009)) is a historian of medieval history with a focus on the period between 1000 and 1300.

Her research focuses on the communicative policies of religious groups; with specific attention to the formation of communities and conflict management, as well as the role of libraries, manuscripts and booklists in information management and propaganda.

She is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow of the Research-Foundation Flanders (FWO). In the past, she has been visiting professor at Leuven University, and visiting scholar at Columbia University in the city of New York, the University of California - Berkeley, and the Belgian Historical Institute in Rome. She has published a monograph (Manuscript Communication: Visual and Textual Mechanics of Communication in Hagiographic Texts form the Southern Low Countries, 900-1200) with Brepols, as well as a co-edited volume (Liège at the Crossroads of Europe). Her articles have been publised in peer-reviewed journals such as Church History, the Revue d'Histoire Ecclésiastique, Scriptorium, BMGN/Low Countries Historical Review, Digital Philology, Studi Medievali, Revue Belge de Philologie et d'Histoire, and Lias.
