The ArcheOs research laboratory for biological anthropology at Ghent University was established in 2020 within the Department of Archaeology. It aims to study the health, kinship, lifestyle and mobility of people of the past. The laboratory has facilities for anthropometry, anthropological chemical steel processing, as well as virtual anthropology. By working with ISOFYS and A&MS in the Department of Chemistry and the ProGenTomics laboratory in the Department of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, isotopes and proteomen analysis can take place within Ghent University. In addition, Ghent University offers state-of-the-art imaging facilities with the core facilities in Infinity and UGCT.
Het ArcheOs onderzoekslaboratorium voor biologische antropologie aan de Universiteit Gent werd opgericht in 2020 binnen het departement archeologie. Het heeft als doel om de gezondheid, verwantschap, levenswijze en mobiliteit van mensen uit het verleden te bestuderen. Het laboratorium beschikt over faciliteiten voor antropometrie, antropologische chemische stalenverwerking, alsook virtuele antropologie. Door samenwerking met ISOFYS en A&MS in het departement Chemie en het ProGenTomics laboratorium in het departement Farmaceutische Biotechnologie kunnen isotopen en proteomenanalyse binnen UGent plaatsvinden. Daarnaast biedt de UGent state-of-the-art beeldvormingsfaciliteiten met de core-faciliteiten in Infinity en UGCT.
