Sven Vrielinck (°1964) is a scientific collaborator at the History Department of the University of Ghent. His research focuses on the development of statistical and spatial data infrastructures for contemporary and early modern history. From 2001 to 2009 he worked as a programme manager at the Federal Science Policy Office in Brussels, where he was responsible for research programme’s in the broad field of the social sciences. He co-ordinated the publication series ’Science and Society’, ‘Society and Future’ and ‘Social Cohesion’. Sven Vrielinck worked as a researcher on the projects HISSTAT - Interuniversity Network for Local Statistics from the 19th and 20th Centuries, POPPKAD – Development of a Land Register in Belgium (1850), and STREAM - Spatiotemporal Research Infrastructure for Early Modern Flanders and Brabant. He is now a collaborator of the QUETELET Center for Quantitative Historical Research.

Sven Vrielinck (°1964) is onderzoeker bij de Vakgroep Geschiedenis van de Universiteit Gent. Zijn onderzoek richt zich op de ontwikkeling van statistische en ruimtelijke data infrastructuren voor de hedendaagse en vroegmoderne geschiedenis. Van 2001 tot 2009 werkte hij als programma manager voor Federaal Wetenschapsbeleid (Belspo), waar hij verantwoordelijk was voor onderzoeksprogramma’s in het brede domein van de sociale wetenschappen. Hij coördineerde de publicatiereeksen Wetenschap en samenleving, Samenleving en toekomst, en Sociale cohesie. Sven Vrielinck werkte als onderzoeker aan de projecten HISSTAT – Interuniversitair netwerk voor lokale statistieken uit de 19e en 20ste eeuw, POPPKAD – Ontwikkeling van een grondkadaster in België (1850) en STREAM – Spatiotemporele onderzoeksinfrastructuur voor Vroegmodern Vlaanderen en Brabant. Hij is nu medewerker van het Queteletcentrum voor Kwantitatief Historisch Onderzoek.
