Abstract

The aim of this project is to highlight the crucial, yet often invisible role of translation and translators in the international circulation of Dutch-language literature, and to introduce students, professionals from the literary field, fellow academics, and the wider public to the practice of literary translation in an interactive series of panel discussions. Since 2003, TRACE has organised public events involving the following authors and their translators: Cees Nooteboom (2003, 2016), Erwin Mortier (2008), Arnon Grunberg (2012), Stefan Hertmans (2021), Lieve Joris (2023), and Bart Moeyaerrt (2026, upcoming).
